Christmas in the City
11 December, 2016 @ 3:00 pm - 8:30 pm
The annual Christmas in the City event is back, combining the Festival, the Street Parade and the beloved carols Concert all into one free community event for the whole family to enjoy. We invite you all to join us on Sunday 11 December from 3pm at Bicentennial Square.
The Christmas Street Parade will commence at 5.30pm and will be as colourful as ever, with Parade MC’s set to commentate all the action of the Parade as participants travel through the streets of Bunbury’s CBD. Expect to see a visit from Santa himself. This is certainly a Street Parade not to be missed.
Complementing our traditional ‘favourites’, Christmas in the City will again feature a range of activities, workshops and entertainment designed to engage and delight all ages. The unique digital art project created exclusively for the Christmas in the City, called The Wonder Workshop will again be back. Both the young and young at heart will be enraptured as their drawing come to life on the huge LED screen and transported ‘magically’ into a digital landscape.
Crowds can also enjoy the cuisine from one of the many food trucks, sit and eat at the share tables in the Food Hall and maybe pick up a unique gift at Market Square or simply relax on their rung in the Picnic Green.
The community Candle competition will also run again at Christmas in the City. This allows community groups and charities to nominate themselves to be one of the three beneficiaries to receive donations form event-goers as they purchase candles for a gold coin donation. In 2015 this initiative raised over $1,200 combined.
We welcome everyone to attend this free City of Bunbury community event.
