The south west’s hottest original bands to battle it out

It’s every band’s dream – to score that one break that gets them noticed. Well, this could be that break.

BANDiT Battle of the Bands is happening again in September. The competition, which is run by The City of Bunbury Youth Advisory Council, gives young bands the chance to get noticed and be in the running for thousands of dollars in prizes. Last years winner, Dallas Royal has gone on to launch their first EP and tour the state.

There are only two requirements to enter; the average age of band members must be under 25 and the band must play original music.

Apart from unearthing awesome new talent, the aim of the event is to grow the south west’s all-ages live music scene and encourage the creation of original music in the region. Through YAC’s regular BANDiT live music gigs, Bunbury is fast becoming the state’s premier centre for live, original music outside of Perth.

BANDiT Battle of the Bands is happening on Saturday the 15th of September 2012 at the Bunbury Vineyard Auditorium.

Registration is $50 per band and can be done online at www.bunbury.wa.gov.au or you can fill out a registration form, available at the City of Bunbury. Also, check out YAC’s Facebook page for all the latest info: facebook.com/bunburyyouth.
