The Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre is about to undergo an impressive transformation.
The multi-million dollar project is expected to be given the final go ahead by the Bunbury Council at its next meeting on Tuesday the 22nd of May.
The expansion will include an extra 250 seat flexible theatre space, to attract larger and more diverse events to the city. It will also include state of the art media and conferencing facilities, all of which will have access for visitors with disabilities.
Not only will these new spaces offer the opportunity for people to engage with the centre in a new way, it will attract new visitors to the city and transform the look of Bunbury’s CBD.
Works on the expansion will begin as soon as alternative parking arrangements are finalised. Unfortunately the works will affect the centre’s current parking. The Council wants to ensure the impact on local business is kept to a minimum and is providing substantial alternative parking.
Once completed, businesses can look forward to the flow on benefits the expansion is expected to generate. The project, which has been made possible by funding from The City of Bunbury and the Royalties for Regions program, is expected to be completed in October next year.
